We had a slew of grab bag winners, 1 big prize winner, and lots of fun and laughter. We can't wait to see who wins the grand prize at the end of the week!

5th Six Weeks Field Trip - All Permission Slips were due by Friday, May 3, 2024. We are not accepting any late slips. We have a cutoff date because we must prepare the purchase order and check in a timely manner. We only include the number of kids that we have with all paperwork turned in when it is due. This is a responsibility that we need to build in our students. We have received a few Permission Slips this morning that will not be accepted. We did have our Robotics Team competing last week and understood that those would be late. However, unless it has been approved prior to the date due, they cannot be accepted. I apologize, but we have to follow WV State Finance Laws that requires planning of time to get everything completed accurately.
On Friday, our HATS students experienced a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn about Japanese culture while at home! We appreciate the MU HATS Program as well as WV Japanese Outreach at Marshall University for traveling today and helping provide the opportunity to learn about other cultures.

So Proud of this BMS Alumni - Owen Porter!
BMS would like to say thank you to all the people who made the Spring Athletic Banquet a success! Of course, this could not happen without Kristan Davis flying the plane! Thanks to all the parents who brought their kids out so that we could celebrate them.
I would like to extend a big thank you to our custodian Mike Sturgell for helping four crazy ladies learn how to use a chair rack! Also to John Stanley for saving us when we had no cutlery for SPAGHETTI!
Many of the parents offered to help with various things also. We have the cream of the crop when it comes to community!
Thanks for a wonderful night celebrating our kids!
I cannot put into words how proud and appreciative I am of Kristan Davis. I knew her in elementary school because I had her sister. She then went through BMS. When she became a teacher I hired her do a long term substitute job. Within a week, I knew that BMS had to have her permanently. She had some other educational job commitments at that time. However, that was NOT going to stop me. I persevered! I now have her as a permanent Math Teacher and Athletic Director. She has by far returned more to the students of BMS than any student to enter the doors.
I hope the athletic community know how fortunate they are to have Kristan. She constantly advocates for all things sports! She has lifted the athletic program at BMS to a level that would never have been possible without her. She will not stop until our kids are provided with a program that is second to none.
And ...... that is only what she does with the athletic part of her job!
She is also one of the most effective teachers I have had in 21 years.
These successes are both based on her love for kids, refusal to stop trying, and selfless nature.
I am so thankful for this young lady.
REMINDER - Today is the last day to turn absence excuses in for the 5th Six Weeks. This is the time period that determines whether a student is eligible for the Dirty Birds Baseball Reward Trip.
