We were graciously donated a tree by a parent. It is now set up in our media center, and we are inviting students to donate an ornament to display on our tree.

Reminder: Tomorrow is our Tattoo a Teacher fundraiser!! Make sure to bring your cash - the event will be taking place during 4th period.

We have good news about our coupon book fundraiser - the deadline to submit orders has been extended to Monday, December 1st which is the day we return from Thanksgiving Break. Please continue to encourage your students to sell. For every 5 books a student sells, they get 1 book free. The attached form explains how to sell books online, or the student can use the attached form to sell with cash or check. 8th Grade Families: Please put Tuesday, November 18th on your calendars for a Facebook Live event from Spring Valley where they will be discussing the high school course scheduling process. This is a great opportunity to get your questions answered before students create their course requests for ninth grade! 💵 Bring your crisp dollar bills to buy a temporary tattoo and “tattoo” the teacher (or principal!) of your choice!

Small — $1
Medium — $3
Large — $5
No one is off limits — teachers and principals are all fair game! 😄
All proceeds go directly to supporting our Band Program, so come ready to have some fun and show your school spirit. Let’s make this a day to remember! 🎶

Our "Strive for Five" Attendance program is still going strong!! Students who are present and on time all five days are entered into a drawing each Friday for a chance to win some treats.

Winners from our October 31st drawing were Jake Gregg, Luke Hampton, Braxton Hayner, Kylie Wilson, Hayden Shepard, Brayden Clark, Pierce Karr, Brooklyn Masters, Mya Jewett, and Isabella Quinteros.

Our November 7th winners were Sadie Lovejoy, Barrett Walls, Shane Nelson, Annalise Simerman, Abby Hughes, Jayden Viers, Braxton Hayner, Josie Coble, and Kylie Wilson. Congratulations!!

The social studies department is raffling a basket from last week's possum palooza! The basket contains all kinds of handmade items like soaps, leather goods, and cutting boards, as well as apple air pods, tumblers, and jewelry! Tickets are $3 for 1 and $5 for 2. See a member of the Social Studies department to purchase tickets. A winner will be announced on Friday at 1 pm! All proceeds go to next year's possum festival.

Congratulations to our Beta winners - we had a tremendous showing, and we can't wait for our Beta Showcase next week! Come out to see all of the hard work and to celebrate our successes!

Congratulations to our Math Field Day winners - they will be competing for the county on December 11th at Vinson!

Families: This is just a reminder that this weekend is a 4-day weekend for students. Staff will have a PL Day on Monday, and we are off for Veterans' Day on Tuesday. We will see everyone back at school next Wednesday, November 12th!

Tomorrow is our annual Possum Palooza Craft & Vendor Fair from 10 am - 3 pm in the Buffalo Middle School gym! We'll have 30 vendors and food trucks on site. Students who are at the Beta convention will not be returning to school until around 6 pm tonight. Please make sure that you are a member of the Remind group, as Mrs. Roark will be sending updates on travel back from Charleston this evening.

The attached form explains how to sell books online, or the student can use the attached form to sell with cash or check. Students and teachers from Appalachia are invited to apply for our summer learning opportunities!

💡 The Appalachian Entrepreneurship Academy, hosted by Appalachian State University, cultivates business and economic development skills in high school students.

🔬 At the Appalachian STEM Academy, middle and high school students and teachers expand their applied science and STEM education with instruction from scientists at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
