Congratulations to our County Social Studies Fair winners from yesterday! We had an amazing showing. We are excited to see how they perform next month at Regionals!
Please don't forget to take the climate survey that was sent out last week! The results of this survey help us plan and set goals for the upcoming school years! CKMS Softball - CK/BMS/VMS
Yesterday, our students heard from Special Agent, Christopher Yarnell from Homeland Security Investigations about threats they face online as well as how to protect themselves and their private information. Lots of great information was shared, and students asked some great questions! Thanks to Special Agent Yarnell for taking the time to talk with our students about this important topic!
Every year, we ask parents and students to complete a survey to gather perceptions about school climate to help guide school improvement efforts. The link to this survey has been sent through the BMS News Schoology group page. Also, students will be bringing home an opt-out form for their survey. If you do NOT want them participating, please complete and return this form. If it is okay for them to participate, you do not have to do anything!
We are excited to announce our school's Young Writers winners: Shane Nelson, Aubree Erdlitz, & Nora McCormick. Shane & Nora will be representing the school at the county level! Congratulations to all 3 of our students for this accomplishment!
We have had some questions about our schedule for Friday and Monday. There is no school on Friday, due to a previously scheduled OSE day. The county decided to take the previously scheduled OSE day on Monday and turn it into a regular school day, so there will be school on Monday. I hope this helps to clarify things!
TONIGHT - Please join us in the school gymnasium for a presentation at 5 pm by Homeland Security Investigations. They will be sharing important information about online/digital safety! We are excited to see everyone!
Reminder: National Junior Honors Society applications are due by the end of the day on Thursday!
Mr. Anderson is doing Valentine's Locker Grams this week! They are $2 through Thursday. When we return to school on Monday, the grams will be delivered to the appropriate lockers!
Next Tuesday, the 17th, is the County Social Studies Fair at Crum. All students participating are required to turn in their permission slips tomorrow!
Special Olympics is scheduled for Feb. 19th and possibly Feb. 20th. Permission slips should be returned by this Thursday.

To round out the end of National School Counseling Week, I have attached a mid-year counseling report that shows what the counseling department at Buffalo Middle has accomplished so far this year. Also attached is a document with 15 things you may or may not know about School Counselors. We're looking forward to seeing what the rest of this school year holds!
